ILLINOIS CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced that 4,o14 new cases of the coronavirus disease were reported across the state Tuesday-a new single day high. There were also 144 new deaths. That brings the total number of cases to 83,021 and deaths to 3,601 in 98 of 102 counties. Not included in the Tuesday totals were 5 newly confirmed cases down in Wayne County. Reports indicate that 4 of those were at a long-term care facility on the west side of Fairfield and the other was not associated with the nursing home. That brings the Wayne County case total to 8. Edwards County also has reported it’s first 2 cases of the diseases. They were one of the last southern Illinois counties to be without a case. Lawrence County remains at 4 confirmed cases with 3 recoveries, Richland County also remains at 3 cases, Wabash County at 2, and Crawford County at 11.
