Jasper County along with the city of Newton and St Joesph Renewable Fuels LLC have announced plans to build a $400 million renewable diesel plant. The 40 acre site is located on the south side of Newton within a federally designated Opportunity Zone. Company officials say that construction will take 2 years with 100 permanent, 200 construction and 300 trucking jobs to be created by the project.
