TWO SENTENCED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY COURT

Lawrence County States Attorney Michael Strange has announced that two local men were recently sentenced to prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court. 50 year old Douglas Steward of Lawrenceville was sentenced to 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections along with 4 years of mandatory supervised released on a charge of Domestic Battery, a Class 2 Illinois felony. He had violated his probation on the offense. 26 year old Johnathan Murray of Noble was sentenced on a Class 2 Illinois felony charge of Burglary. He also violated probation and was given 3 years in the DOC with 2 years of mandatory supervised release. Both men must pay all fines and court costs and they are being held in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting transfer to the DOC.
