This is Arson Awareness Week across Illinois and the State Fire Marshalls Office is reminding Lawrence County and other area residents about the seriousness of the crime. State Fire Marshall agents and canine units respond to more than 1000 arson investigations each year. Arsons cause billions of dollars in damages and put firefighters and the general public in danger.
