JUDGE RULES FOR BAILEY

court-2

A southeastern Illinois judge ruled Monday that Governor J.B. Pritzger’s stay-at-home order exceeds his emergency authority and violates individual civil rights. Clay County Circuit Court Judge Michael Mchaney sided with 109th District Republican State Representative Darren Bailey’s lawsuit seeking to undo the Democratic governor’s executive order which was extended last week until the end of May. At his daily briefing Monday, Pritzger reacted sternly and accused Bailey of being “blindly devoted to ideology and the pursuit of personal celebrity and endangering the lives of Illinois residents”. He also said there would be an appeal of the ruling before Friday-the date that the extended order kicks in.
