HOLCOMB ORDER ON MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed an order late last week allowing the lifting of restrictions on elective medical procedures starting this week. The new order covers providers such as surgical centers, dental, dermatology and veterinary offices allowing them to resume their operations as long as they have sufficient PPE and procedures to avoid spreading the coronavirus. Holcomb had already removed such restrictions from the state’s hospitals. Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes announced that starting last week it began reopening some services to the Knox County and southwestern Indiana area that had previously been put on hold. Hospital President and CEO Rob McLin sais it was important for the medical facility to show flexibility in providing care for patients other than COVID-19 victims.
