Governor J.B. Pritzker has modified his Stay-At-Home Order and extended it through Saturday May 30th. One of the most important modifications is that beginning on Friday May 1st, residents will be mandated to wear a mask while in public to help stop the spread of the disease. The governor has eased some restrictions beginning next month. Hospitals will be allowed to do certain elective surgeries and other procedures under Department of Public Health guidelines. Some state parks across the state will reopen. However Red Hill State Park here in Lawrence County was not on the Department of Natural Resources list. Fishing, boating and golf will be allowed under strict safety guidelines. Greenhouses, garden centers and plant nurseries will be considered as essential and can open while non-essential retailers can reopen to handle phone and on-line orders.
