109th District Republican State Representative Darren Bailey is suing Governor J.B. Pritzker for extending the Stay-At-Home Order. Bailey claims in the lawsuit filed late Thursday in Clay County Circuit Court that the governor has exceeded his authority and is violating the civil rights of the states residents. Bailey says many of his constituents are ready to return to work and resume a near-normal life. The 109th District does include Lawrence County.
