The Lawrence Public Library Board has approved making preparations for the eventual reopening of the facility at 814 12th Street in downtown Lawrenceville.  Beginning on Monday May 4th, head librarian Diane Brumley and one paid employee will work inside daily following CDC health protocols to have the building ready for the day when patrons will again be allowed to use it. Since the library was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only Brumley has been inside. She reported to the board that since the closing, checkout of books has naturally been down with E-book online usage up. Book deliveries have been delayed due to the ongoing sitituation and summer reading program plans remain uncertain.
