ILLINOIS CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,672 new cases of the coronavirus Sunday including 43 new deaths. Despite those numbers, Governor J.B. Pritzger and state health officials say that there are signs the state may be nearing the peak of the outbreak. The increased number of cases was in part because of increased testing and the Sunday death number was the lowest in a week. Those numbers indicate that Illinois residents are continuing to abide by the Stay-Home Order issued by the governor and are following social distancing and other preventative measures. Illinois now has 20,852 confirmed cases of the virus and 720 people total have died due to its complications. There was one death in Jasper County Sunday. The health department there saying  a female patient in her 90s died from the disease.
