Good Samaritan is increasing outpatient testing for COVID-19 at the Suspected Respiratory Illness Drive-Thru Triage Clinic. The clinic will now be testing any
symptomatic patients that are of higher risk for significant illness. These patients include those
who:

· Are age 60 or older
· Have Diabetes
· Have Chronic Lung Disease
· Have Cardiovascular Disease
· Have Chronic Renal Disease
Others who will be considered for testing include individuals with known high-risk exposure, such as contact with a confirmed positive individual and travel to certain areas with high COVID-19 cases; and symptomatic patients that work in high contact areas where social distancing is difficult.

Previously, testing guidelines required the patient to have had a known exposure or be hospitalized to be eligible for a COVID-19 test.

As a reminder some of the key symptoms are: Fever, dry cough, fatigue, myalgia (muscle pain), shortness of breath, and sore throat.

Good Samaritan also announced the opening of a Pediatric Respiratory Clinic located at Willow Plaza, 1813 Willow Street, Suite A.

The clinic opens today and pediatrician Dr. Heather Nichols will be seeing patients at the clinic. This clinic is for pediatric patients with any respiratory illness symptoms. An appointment is necessary, which can be made by calling the Good Samaritan nurse triage line at 812-885-3331 or by contacting your primary care provider.
