CORONAVIRUS ILLINOIS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health Sunday announced 296 new cases of the coronavirus disease in the state, including an infant. Three more deaths were also announced from Cook County, Chicago, and McLean Counties bringing the total to nine. Four new counties reported cases of the disease-Jo Daviess, Livingston, Rock Island, and Stephenson. Currently there have been a total of 1,049 cases in 30 Illinois counties. The have been no reported cases yet in Lawrence County. More than 8300 people have been tested statewide so far and state public health officials say they are working to make more testing available. The public is being reminded to stay at home as much as possible, practice social distancing when in public places, and wash hands frequently with soap and water.
