CORONAVIRUS ILLINOIS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 163 new cases of coronavirus disease Friday including a death in Cook County. Three new counties reported cases-Adams, Christian, and McLean. As of Saturday morning there were 585 total cases in 25 counties in the state. Governor J.B. Pritzker Friday issued an Executive Order for the state’s 12.6 million residents to stay and remain in their homes except for essential needs. It goes into effect Saturday at 5 p.m. Central Time. Residents will still be allowed to shop for groceries, pick up medicine, get gas for vehicles, and exercise outdoors. The order will remain in effect until April 7th. The governor also indicated Friday that all state schools will remain closed through that April 7th date.
