The Lawrence Allison Fire Protection District and Bridgeport Fire District responded to two fire calls. The first occured just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Units were dispatched to Wabash Energy Corporation on Illinois State Route 1 Lawrenceville where a heat detector had tripped the automatic alarm system. There was no fire. The second occurred around 2:40 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters were sent to the 414 Jefferson Street residence of Cathy Case in Lawrenceville where a compressor motor on an upright freezer caught fire causing $200 in estimated damage. There were no reported injuries.
