The Lawrence County Health Department met with representatives of Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and the Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency Tuesday to discuss the Coronavirus situation. The health department will be the lead agency in providing information and guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control. As required by state protocol, in the event someone locally needs to be tested, the Lawrence County Health Department will do the testing for the virus. In a statement the Health Department indicated it has tested patients in Lawrence County. In the event of a positive test as per state protocol they will make the public aware and follow all applicable laws in notifying all potential infected individuals.
