INDIANA HOSPITAL PROPOSAL ROLLED BACK

Indiana lawmakers have rolled back a proposal that would cut how much insurance companies pay for medical services performed at offices away from a hospital’s main campus. The action came after hundreds of doctors, nurses, and hospital officials descended Monday on the state capital in Indianapolis protesting the payment limitations that were added to a wide-ranging bill last week. Among those attending the rally was Good Samaritan Hospital Chief Executive Officer and President Rob McLin. McLin and other members of the Indiana Hospital Association said that the billing proposal would have caused hundreds of millions of dollars in cuts at hospitals across the state and lead to a loss of medical services to patients across the Hoosier State.
