Another phone scam warning has been issued. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is warning Lawrence County and other area residents of the scam in which the caller claims to be from the Illinois Board of Dentistry. The call appears to be from an official Illinois State Agency. At least one call of this type has been recieved in the southeastern Illinois area. If you recieve a call of this type hang up immediately. It is a scam. The Illinois Board of Dentistry will never call someone and demand money or information.
