INDIANS NIP SALUKIS IN THRILLER

Logan Williams hit a three point basket with 8 seconds left and Camren Ray missed a driving layup attempt as time expired and the Lawrenceville Basketball Indians held off the Red Hill Salukis 60-59 Tuesday night in the annual Rotary Classic game at Bridgeport. The Tribe led by 1 30-29 after the first quarter but the host Salukis rallied to lead 28-23 at the half. The Tribe led by 3 37-34 entering the fourth quarter and the contest was back and forth down to the final moments.  The victorious Indians placed four in double digits-Blayne Winningham with 16, Brenyn Winningham and Ethan Kelly each with 13 and MVP Noah Weger with 10. For the Salukis three were in double figures-MVP Drake Allen with 24, Ray with 13 and Josh Henry with 11. The win improves the Indians to 13-11 as they snap a two game skid while the Salukis fall to 8-17 with the loss which ended a two game winning streak. The Indians end up sweeping their two games with their county rivals. The Indian JV also won 62-39 with Damon Zollars lead the Tribe with 16 and Andrew  Maxfield had 16 for the Salukis. The Indians are off till Friday when they host Casey-Westfield while the Salukis play a rescheduled game at home Wednesday with the Paris Tigers.
