Lawrence County and other Illinois residents can start filing state and federal tax returns next week. Monday is the first day for tax filing. The Illinois Department of Revenue says the quickest way to get your refund is to file electronically and request direct deposit. Last year around 88% of Illinois taxpayers opted to e-file their returns.
