Officials with Ameren Illinois report that some local and regional residents may have recieved an insert in their most recent billing statement informing them of a municipal utility tax rate increase. The company says that the notices were sent in error due to a programming problem and that no such tax increase is scheduled for Ameren customers. The company says that customers will be sent a letter informing them of the error in the future.
