The City of St Francisville is weighing it’s options under the new Illinois Recreational Cannabis Act. The city council heard from attorney Mike Neal on various aspects of the Act which became law this new year of 2020. Topics discussed included employee regulation, licensing, prohibition of growing facilities, and taxing of such facilities. The council moved to table the matter for further review and study. The council did approve $5700 to pay for telemetry upgrades at the city water plant. They approved after a 10 minute executive session the hiring of Adam Potts as Class B Water Operator and Maintenence Employee for the city. Approved was a 25 cent an hour raise for hourly city employees with action on raises for salaried employees to be determined later.
