A Southern Illinois States Attorney has been elected president of the Illinois States Attorneys Association. Hamilton County’s Justin Hood was selected to the position by members during their 82nd annual conference in Chicago in December. He is the first ever from that county to be elected president. The Illinois States Attorneys Association is a bi-partisan organization comprised of all elected States Attorneys from across the state whose purpose is to promote the orderly administration of justice and enforcement of the law. Hood will also direct the Association’s Legislative Committee which reviews and initiates legislation designed to more actively prosecute criminals and prevent crime.
