INDIANA GIVES MONEY TO HARMONY BRIDGE

The State of Indiana has given $350,000 in funding to help with the re-opening of the Harmony Way Bridge. The bridge has been closed since 2012 because of insufficient monies to make needed repairs to the structure. The former interstate toll bridge spans the Wabash River between White County in southeastern Illinois and Posey County in southwestern Indiana. The $350,000 from Indiana will cover one half of the estimated inspection and repair costs to re-open the bridge. It is anticipated that the other half of the funding will come from the State of Illinois through the Illinois Bridge Authority.
