The Good Samaritan Hospital Board of Governors held their final session of 2019 Thursday in Vincennes. Senior administrative leadership presented information about the hospital’s year of 2019 and talked about the outlook and budget for 2020 and beyond. Focusing on future growth, the Board voted to purchase the Medical Center of Vincennes/Foundry Building for approximately $2.5 million and MCV Pediatrics for around $758,000. Closings on the sales are anticipated the first week in January with possession of the property to be immediate. The 2020 budget is set to reflect a 3.7% operating margin for the year based on increased outpatient volumes and reduced costs. The budget does include a 3% wage increase for hospital employees and an average rate increase for services at 2.71%.
