15th District Republican Congressman John Shimkus was not in Washington Wednesday for the impeachment votes in the U.S. House against President Donald Trump. Shimkus and his wife Karen were out of the country on a previously scheduled trip to visit their son Joshua who works in the Peace Corp in Tanzania. Shimkus did tell the President last week that he would not be present for the votes and that he opposed the impeachment process. Shimkus in a statement released on the impeachment issue said that the articles of impeachment against Trump were not credible.
