U.S. employers posted more job openings in October and November, a sign that the job market remains strong. The labor Department said this week that the number of available jobs rose 3.3% to nearly 7.3 million. That suggests that businesses across the county remain confident enough in the national economic outlook to create more jobs. The news was pleasing to 15th District Republican Congressman John Shimkus. The veteran lawmaker says that now when he talks to young people throughout the district which includes Lawrence County he has a positive message that there are jobs available for those wishing to go to a trade school or college in the future.
