WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED

The National Weather Service says there is the possibility of severe winter weather late this weekend into early next week for the WAKO listening area. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from Sunday evening through Monday morning. A wintry mix of freezing rain and snow is possible with a total ice accumulation of up to 2/10ths  of an inch and a snow accumulation of anywhere from 1 to 3 inches across portions of southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. The NWS says that people in the area should be prepared for potential slippery road conditions that could impact Sunday evening travel and the Monday morning work and school commute.
