INDIANS PICK UP ROAD WIN

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians pulled away with a 16-4 run late in the fourth quarter Friday night and weint on to beat the Flora Wolves 59-47 at Conley Gym in Flora. The win was the third in a row for the Tribe who are now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Little Illini Conference. The Indians led 20-16 after one quarter, 29-26 at the half and 43-40 after three quarters. Two free throws by Skyler Tewell put the Indians on top for good early in the final stanza and they went on to notch the victory. There was balanced scoring for the Indians as Tewell led the way with 17 points, Noah Weger had 13 and Jordan Jones and Blayne Winningham both added 10. The Indian JV remained undefeated at 3-0 with a 43-36 win. Leyton Ivers led the way with 15 points and Brenyn Winningham 10. The Indians next see action on Tuesday as they travel to Albion to meet the Edwards County Lions in non-conference play.
