The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says that more than 75,000 were harvested statewide during the 2019 firearm deer season. That was below the harvest amount in 2018. DNR officials say a later firearm season and late harvest were factors in the decrease. Counties with the largest harvest totals included Jackson, Randolph, Pike, Fulton, and Williamson. In Lawrence County the 2019 deer harvest total was 576 down from the 2018 harvest of 644.
