Illinois State Police District 12 out of Effingham have released the results of recent Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols held in Lawrence and Richland Counties in November. Those patrols provided troopers extra coverage to make sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up. During the patrols there were 23 seat belt citations, 1 child restraint citation, and 38 overall citations issued. There were also 12 written warnings issued. Illinois law requires that all vehicle passengers front and back wear seat belts.
