GSI Inc has announced it will close its plant in Flora in Clay County Illinois at the end of January 2020. Operations will cease at the location on January 31st affecting about 89 employees there. GSI is the worlds largest manufacturer of steel farm bins, commercial storage bins and grain silos with business in over 70 countries worldwide. The company began as a small operation in 1972 and by 1988 were one of the largest such companies in the world. it is not known if the affected workers will be offered positions at other GSI locations.
