The National Weather Service in Lincoln Illinois has cancelled the flood warning issued for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville. The river Thursday morning was at 29.8 feet-below the 30 foot flood stage. The river fell below flood late Wednesday. River levels had been high for the past several days due to extensive rainfall this past weekend in the upper Embarras River Basin which caused the river downstream to rise. The river is expected to continue a steady fall.
