The Marshall Lions captured their second Lawrence County Basketball Classic Tournament championship Saturday night as they upset defending champ Fairfield 83-71 in the title game in Bridgeport at Red Hill Junior-Senior High School. It is the Lions first tourney win since 2008. Mt Carmel won third place over Olney 52-46. Named to the All-Tournament Team were MVP Daniel Tingley, Jesse Burdick, Jadon Wallace, and Ethan Keown of Marshall, Kane Hixenbaugh, Wyatt Gilbert, and Landon Zurliene of Fairfield, Chase Travis and Bradon Flanagan of Olney, and Beau Stipp and Kaleb Appleby of Mt Carmel. There were no Lawrence County players named to the squad.
