The Lawrence County Board has approved a resolution to have five full time sheriffs department road deputies. The move was made after a request was made by Sheriff Russell Adams last month. Adams says the move will enhance public safety and officer safety with another deputy now added to the night patrols across the county. The board did move to amend and update the county liquor ordinance upon committee recommendation. The cap on county licenses raises from 9 up to 12 with fees to remain the same. Formal approval was given to both the 2020 budget and tax levy. Also approved was the use of the State Appellate Prosecutors Office by the states attorneys office when neccessary.
