A Salem Illinois businessman has announced he will be running for the Democratic nomination for the 15th District Illinois seat in the U.S. House being vacated by incumbent John Shimkus. Craig Morton is the owner of the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy located in Salem. He also has been on the Salem City Council for six years. Morton indicated that he is already circulating petitions to run. He joins an evergrowing list of people who are looking to succeed Shimkus who announced he would not seek re-election and retire.
