The Wabash County States Attorneys Office has announced that a Mt Carmel man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for a shooting incident at a local motel. 52 year old Michael Lancaster was charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon after firing a gun inside the Super 8 Motel in Mt Carmel in early September. No one was injured and Lancaster was arrested with a loaded 9 millemeter handgun outside the location without incident. He recieved 8 years on the Aggravated Discharge charge and 5 years on the Possession charge. The sentences in the Illinois Department of Corrections will run concurrently.
