Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Marie Dunlap

Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Marie Dunlap, age 75, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1944 in Monroe City, Indiana, the daughter of Noble and Estella (Blessinger) Boger. She married Jack W. Dunlap on December 24, 1959, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1992.

Dottie worked in the healthcare field for over 50 years, and became a registered nurse in 1982. During those years, she worked for a number of healthcare facilities, including the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and the United Methodist Village. She was a member of the Sumner Free Methodist Church. Her hobbies included playing bingo, going on trips to Milwaukee, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jack; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Jack ‘Jay’ Dunlap and wife, Tracy, of Bridgeport, Illinois; two daughters, Lynda Kramer and husband, Tom, of Sumner, Illinois and Penni Hutcheson and husband, Tony, of Albion, Illinois; four brothers, Donald Boger, Ronald Boger and wife, Marilyn, Rick Boger, and Jackie Boger and wife, Leslie, all of Vincennes, Indiana; one sister, Donna Kathryn McGregor of Vincennes, Indiana; best friend, Brenda Smith; six grandchildren, Heath Judy, Erin Hall, David Hall, Jacob Judy, Thomas Kramer, and Kayla Rogers; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Bridgeport City/Shiloh Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center and Wig Shoppe. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
