All the Little Illini Conference teams that made the IHSA Football Playoffs were eliminated in the first round of play Saturday. In Class 1A Casey-Westfield finishes 6-4 after losing 42-7 at Athens, in Class 2A Flora bows out at 6-4 after a 42-14 loss at Tuscola, in Class 3A Newton finishes 5-5 after a 31-6 loss at unbeaten Beardstown, and in Class 4A the Paris Tigers end their year at 8-2 after a home loss to Kankakee McNamara 34-13. Richland Co (Olney) lost in 4A play at home Friday to Fairbury (Prairie Central) Friday 35-14 to finish 7-3. Two area teams did advance after first round action in Class 3A-Fairfield moved to 10-0 with a 36-8 home win over Alton-Marquette and Mt Carmel rolled over Carlinville 35-7 at Riverview Stadium.
