The City of Vincennes has honored one of its own. During the Board of Works and Safety meeting Monday Mayor Joe Yochum and Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff bestowed the City Medal of Valor and a lifesaving award to firefighter Mike Sherman. Sherman was off duty in attendance at a recent youth baseball game in Winslow Indiana when a young baseball player suffered cardiac arrest during the game. Sherman sprang into action and used his CPR training and expertise to revive the boy twice until emergency paramedics arrived on the scene. His actions are credited with saving the boys life.
