The Sumner City Council met in special session Monday evening at City Hall. The meeting was called by Mayor Betty Brian to deal with garbage collection for water customers located outside the city limits under the new contract with Republic Services. After discussion, it was voted to provide the option of having that service available to those customers who want it at a cost of $15. The cost for customers inside the city limits under the new contract is $11. Letters will be sent to those affected. The new contract with Republic Services begins on November 1st.
