Reports out of Clay County Illinois indicate that Flora resident Stephen Smith has suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination for the 109th District State Representative seat. In a post on his Facebook page, Smith says that he and his family have been threatened and have had their vehicles vandalized while out campaigning. Smith was one of those looking to succeed Darren Bailey as he runs for State Senate.
