The Lawrenceville Football Indians captured the Oilfield Trophy for the first time in three years Friday night as they knocked off the Red Hill Football Salukis in the annual rivalry game 22-6 on Senior Night at Ed Loeb Field. The Tribe used a strong ground game and an opportunistic defense to notch their second win of the season and snap a four game losing skid. Seniors Dayman Parkman and Christian Beamon each ran for 100 yards and a touchdown to lead the way. Parkman rushed for 131  while Beamon had 100. Senior Jordan Jones also contributed to the win with a 18 yard touchdown catch from quarterback Blayne Winningham. The only Saluki score came early in the first quarter on a 26 yard scamper by quarterback Andrew Maxfield. The Salukis hurt their chances with a couple of key fumbles and penalties. With the win the Indians improve to 2-6 while the Salukis are now 1-7. The Indians end the season next Saturday at Trenton-Wesclin while the Salukis close the year at home Friday against Casey-Westfield.
