The Vincennes Board of Works and Safety has taken under advisement two bids recieved for the owner occupied home rehabilitation program. The project is being funded by a $350,000 grant obtained through the Southern Indiana Development Commission and looks to fix up 14 homes in the city in the future. The board also approved the closing of First Street between Busseron and Broadway in the future to allow for the demolition of the riverfront grain elevators as part of the project to create a housing complex in that area. The closing would however only occur when works is underway at the location. New Vincennes Police hire Ian McVeigh was formally introduced. He was later sworn in by Mayor Joe Yochum and will now head to police academy training. City trick or treat hours were also set for Wednesday October 30th and Thursday October 31st from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
