Illinois State Police District 12 out of Effingham has released its activity and enforcement figures for the month of September. District 12 does include Lawrence County. During the month there were 168 requests for a trooper with over 1510 incident investigations in the field. Enforcement figures totalled 554 citations-302 were for speeding. There were 5 DUI arrests. 15 seat belt citations and 4 child restraint citations were issued. There were 97 distracted driving violations and 10 move over violations during the month. Troopers made 24 criminal arrests and investigated 36 traffic crashes-1 of which was fatal.
