The Sumner City Council has approved a five year contract with Republic Services for trash collection. The move was made Tuesday during its regular session. The Republic bid was lowest of two recieved by the city. The new contract will begin on November 1st. The Council also set Trick or Treat hours for Halloween. They are from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday October 31st.
