109th District State Representative Darren Bailey is pleased that the country of Taiwan has agreed recently to make a $2.2 billion commitment to buy Illinois corn and soybeans over the next two years. Bailey issued a statement after returning from a trip to Chicago for the annual meeting of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and a face to face meeting with Taiwanese agricultural officials. Bailey is a Clay County farmer himself and a member of the Illinois House Agriculture and Conservation Committee. He says he looks forward to continuing to promote Southern Illinois agricultural products and to encourage expansion of the entire Illinois agricultural economy.
