ONE MAN KILLED IN I-70 CRASHES

A large section of Interstate 70 in Southeastern Illinois was closed for several hours after multiple accidents Tuesday afternoon in which a Central Illinois man was killed. Illinois State Police at Effingham report that there were four crashes total-one five miles west of Effingham, one two miles west of Altamont, one on US 40 at 1-70  and another on 1-70 east of Effingham. In the mishap two miles west of Altamont, Theoplus Coleman of Urbana died of his injuries. After the wreckage of all those accidents was cleared and investigation completed, Westbound I-70 was reopened to traffic about 5:30 p.m. and Eastbound I-70 reopened to traffic about 8:30 p.m.
