Authorities in Wabash County have ruled the shooting death of a Mt Carmel man this past weekend as a suicide. Wabash County 911 recieved a call Sunday afternoon regarding a suicidal male subject at a rural location on Illinois Highway 15. The Sheriffs Department responded to the address and discovered the body of 51 year old Jimmy McVaigh of Mt Carmel. Coroner Shaun Keepes was summoned to the scene and pronounced McVaigh dead. The cause was a single self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
