Paul Goldschmidt laced a tiebreaking double past third in the top of the ninth inning Sunday to give the St Louis Cardinals a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Former Cub Dexter Fowler tied the game with a sacrifice fly two batters before Goldschmidt allowed the Cardinals to complete their first four game sweep at Wrigley in 98 years. The NL Central leaders also wrapped up at least a wild card berth with the win and stayed atop the division by three games over the Milwaukee Brewers. With the loss the Cubs playoff hopes were dealt a severe blow. They have Monday off before opening a three game series Tuesday at Pittsburgh.
