HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPEAKER ANNOUNCED

The Lawrence County Historical Society has announced the guest speaker for it’s next meeting coming up later this month. Dr Caroline Kisiel, an associate professor and member of the School of Contiuing and Professional Studies at DePaul University in Chicago will speak at the session set for Monday September 23rd at 7 p.m. at the History Center in downtown Lawrenceville. Her topic will be “Anti-Slavery Activism on the Illinois Frontier: The Story of the English Prairie.” Dr Kisiel’s appearance in Lawrenceville is made possible by the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Program. The program is free and open to the public.
